Obamacare – Why The Health Insurance Companies Love It

It is very simple to understand why health insurance companies in the US love Obamacare. Their customer base is going to explode.

Around 15% of the US population or 48 million people do not have health insurance. Obamacare is going to force everyone to get medical insurance or the government will fine them.

And the fine is not going to be small either.

In 2016 it is 2.5% of income or $695 per person, whichever is higher.

The government is not even going to use the lower figure!

From 2016 everyone in the USA will be forced to pay a minimum of 2.5% of their income in health insurance!

And the less wealthy you are the more you are going to have to pay.

I fail to see how Obamacare is going to help people who earn too much to claim Medicaid but do not currently have enough spare cash to pay for health insurance.

These people were in a massive jam before Obamacare and Obamacare is simply going to increase the pressure further.

There is obviously serious problems in the USA when it comes to healthcare.

The costs are simply too high and there is only one way this can happen.

New entrants are prohibited from entering the market, either through federal or state government regulations.

Or they are forced out of business due to large competitors acting as a cartel and bullying their customers not to purchase from these new start-ups.

These are the only two things that can happen to artificially inflate health care prices.

Whatever the case maybe it is government that has caused the inflated prices.

Either the government is preventing new entrants into the market

the government is turning a blind eye to illegal and anti-competitive practices.

It is these factors that the government should be tackling to reduce healthcare costs.

The government should not be inflicting extortionate fines on those least able to pay.

Unfortunately this kind of policy is typical of the Obama administration  It claims to want to look after the little guy when it does the exact opposite.
